Canaan Valley Resort - Tubing

No matter the season, Canaan Valley Resort has plenty of opportunities for you to get out and have fun. As soon as we heard that the tube park was open for the winter, we had to run up the hill to check it out.

The tube park is located 2 miles north of our cabins on Rt 32. Turn right into the ski slope entrance then left when you see the ski lodge. This driveway takes you straight to the tube park's warming hut where you can buy tickets for 2 hour sessions. The park features a 1200' long conveyor that pulls you to the top of the run and 6 lanes that zip you back to the bottom.

We had a beautiful clear skied day for our first visit to CVR's tube run. This was late December and since it was very early in their season the tube park was not crowded at all. After only a few runs we soon discovered that lashing the tubes together made for our fastest and most enjoyable trips down the hill. Break time in the warming hut included comfortable couches and a cozy fire in the fireplace. We loved the experience and vowed to return later in the season.

Night Tubing

Let me set the scene... it's an evening in late January now and the temperature is falling into the teens. The valley is coming out of a three day storm that dumped several inches of snow on the mountain. The tube run has had a very active weekend and is running as fast as it gets. The video showing our clan crashing into the padded wall at the end of the run pretty much sums up our experience. We had an absolute blast!

If you're coming to the cabins and want some thrills without strapping on skis, this is a must.
